Psychiatric Appointments
Why do I have two appointments?

At Renewed Journey CS, we provide care through an integrative model, meaning therapy and psychiatric services work together to support your overall mental health. You will be assigned both a therapist and a psychiatric provider who collaborate as your care team.
As part of this approach, you will participate in a Clinical Care Session (CCS) prior to your psychiatric visit. During this time, you’ll meet with your therapist to review updates, symptoms, and life stressors. This allows your care team to gather meaningful, up-to-date information so your psychiatric provider can focus more directly on treatment decisions, including medication management when appropriate.
Our psychiatric providers are able to initiate or prescribe medication during the first visit when clinically appropriate. To support safe and effective care, they also review your medication history and may request or coordinate records from your other healthcare providers. This ensures that any treatment decisions are well-informed and aligned with your full medical and mental health history.
This structure helps your appointments feel more focused, efficient, and personalized, with total care typically ranging between 45–60 minutes, depending on your needs.
We are not a medication management-only practice. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, coordinated care that supports your long-term wellness, not just symptom management.
